Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course is one of the older courses near Bangkok city center, known for its attractive layout adorned with large, mature trees. Opened long before Thailand's golf boom, it remains one of the most renowned courses among locals. In the mid-1990s, the course underwent a complete redesign and renovation by James R. Vaughn. The current layout features numerous water hazards, mature trees, and out-of-bounds areas, making accurate drives crucial for a good score.Most holes have water and out-of-bounds on one or both sides of the fairway. Even if you find the fairway off the tee, precise approach shots are necessary due to the many water hazards and greenside bunkers. The par-3s, though short, are challenging to hold on the putting surface. The greens are deceptive and somewhat difficult to read. The par-4 1st hole can quickly ruin any chances of a good score, while the par-5 2nd hole is equally challenging with its narrow fairway and water hazards on both sides.The Krungthep Kreetha clubhouse, also renovated along with the course, is grand and features an excellent Thai restaurant. Complete practice facilities, including a rarely crowded public driving range, are available on-site.Krungthep Kreetha's proximity to downtown Bangkok makes it popular with members, locals, and businessmen, so early tee time bookings are recommended.
